Turning 40 Years Old!

For my birthday we went with our friend Kris to Hairspray the musical, and then to Babbo the impossible to get reservations at place in the village.

What's Happening

Many of you are probably asking yourself what happened to November and so are we. In fact, as you can tell from our blog we have not even had the time to post! Here is a snapshot Anne is taking care of the Alpha Academy at IS 52, and has now also taken over as the AP in charge of English for her entire school. As if that has not kept her busy enough she also wrote the principals performance review and has been doing all of the teacher evaluations in Alpha Academy. Most days she works late and I take the bus over to meet her. Anne also has been making tons of time for little Drew by making sure his every need is taken care of and is in short super mom. Each weekend we have been making it over to my parents without fail—or as the Friday phone call from my mom goes, “Hi just wanted to see what you guys are doing—when are you bringing over the kid!”
I have been busy myself taking on a new position at the high school at Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy and I am teaching a special education class for the first time. It has been a very rewarding year at RKA. My kids in my 11th grade classes are coming along well and I look forward to them passing the Regents this June. I have been getting back into the gym more and trying to get in shape before my 40th Birthday gasp.

This week

Anne's kids had their middle school dance this weekend and we had a great time. The kids had great costumes and the teachers and kids had good costumes.

Walking from Riverdale Bronx to Kingsbridge and Broadway

Yesterday I walked down from my school at Riverdale down through Riverdale to the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx. The trip is interesting. The photos tell the story of the walk.
Here is the place where I started just outside the school MSHS 141/
This is a shot of the heighborhood just around the school which is mainly full of condos. After crossing the bridge the next picture shows the market area of downtown Riverdale. The cool thing about this whole area is that it seems much more like an inner suburb than a borough in one of the biggest cities in the world.

Tickets are an ever present problem in Riverdale.

As you come closer to the Kingsbridge are the neighborhood changes but the private house mixed area remains the same. In fact there are more private houses.

Pots and Pans

I have discovered pots and pans today as a great way to make noise. Using a metal spoon you can make quite a racket by banging the cold shiny stuff together. Thanks for showing me how to make just tons of noise Grandpa! In other news I had some fruit, some milk, and some juice today and now I am getting ready for lunch. Bye Bye. . .

July 2nd

Here is a picture of the baby. He is starting to crawl backwards now.

It's hot, sticky and jungle like in Somers right now. The lillys are all out along the roads here and it looks very pretty. We are expecting some severe Thunder storms today and it is very humid.

No we have not moved to the projects. I was just taking some shots of the city near where we work while I stopped for some coffee at the Dunkin Donuts with Little Drew.

More stuff from University Place

After six months of parenting and loads of work from Columbia Anne is starting to get a little freaked out. Check out her look in the picture--can pharmacutical intervention be far behind? I don't think so.

Drew is really working on this standing thing. Here he is in his big boy outfit.

Hey all here are some more pictures of our adventures in University Place Washington.
