Traveling to Seattle

We arrived in Seattle last night after some fan fare on our trip out. We left directly after work and arrived in Newark on time. Our flight was delayed by over two hours and we arrived in Seattle close to 2AM. When we arrived at our Avis rental center they told us that they did not have the car that we wanted but we could have a SUV. That seemed fine until we got the car it was a very small SUV based on the dodge sub compact. We couldn’t even get all of our stuff in so we went back to the rental counter.

After some chit chat we got a large car we were promised we went out to the lot and switched all of our stuff out of the small SUV and into the Chrysler 300. After getting everything moved we closed the door and noticed that the car had a flat tire.

Back into the rental office we went. This time they found another car and brought it around for us. Sadly, the car did not have any gas in it so it had to be filled.

Needless to say they gave us the Chrysler 300 Touring on the way out an upgrade and now we will be having a good week in the HEMI powered Chrysler 300. We arrived at the in laws house in University Place at 4AM.

Today we are just hanging out and getting caught up on the happenings.

I will post pictures as soon as they are available.

Thanksgiving Stuff

Have the baby boomers been saving enough?

Have baby boomers saved enough?

What types of things might we learn from the fact that this chart shows us that they have not been saving for retirement? Will they have to sell their primary residence in more expensive areas and flee to smaller and less costlky locals? What does that portend for us in the expensive cities of the United States?

I would like to suggest that it could mean that the real estate values in the most expensive cities like New York will fall. That is assuming of course that there are not people willing to pick up all of the real estate as it comes to market as the bulk of the baby boomers come of retirement age between 2010-2015.

It will also happen in all of the other 10 most expensive cities in America. Of course, this does assume, economically speaking--all other things are equal. Ta Ta!

Sick Sick Sick

I stayed home with my son today because we were both sick. It looks like we have the same thing that my dad had a week ago. Our turn I guess. I know for sure that I could not be out on Tuesday which is parent teacher conferences at my school so I bit the bullet and took a day today. Lord knows I hate to be out of of te classroom for any reason.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

The Long Veterans Day weekend

While we all sit enjoying a long weekend either spending it with friends or family, or just having an extra day men and women are off serving our country in the armed forces.

I hope you will take the time to think of them this weekend.

WorldNetDaily: China products choke, burn, drown, drop, trap Americans

madeinchina WASHINGTON – It's not just Chinese food and drug imports that can kill you.

Many of those bargain-priced products you pick up at Wal-Mart, Target or Sam's Club could do you in, too.

Imports from China were recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission twice as often as products made everywhere else in the world, including the U.S., a WND study of government 2007 reports shows.
