Pictures of the Moon last night from Somers

One of the cool things about being in Somers is that there are no lights to distract from the night sky. I was able to get this shot off without a tripod using my Cannon Powershot. Cool huh?

Broken Pinky Toe

The baby was chasing me around the house and I caught my toe on the edge of the sofa leg. I could hear the bone snap like a chicken bone in my pinky toe. I just got back from the foot doctor here in Somers. My mom drove me because my wife Anne had to stay with my son for his speech therapy. Looks like a clean break that will take about three to four weeks to heal completely.

While there he also took care of another problem I was having with my big toe so I should be in big pain when the novacaine wears off.

Last Day How will history remember him

Today is a sombre milestone, marking the start of the last of Mr Bush's eight years in the White House. This being a leap year, exactly 366 days remain until 20 January 2009, when his successor will be sworn into office. It is a time when incumbents look to their legacies. And for this President the view could scarcely be bleaker.

Is he the worst President in US history? Mr Bush faces stiff competition from the likes of James Buchanan, who watched as America slipped towards civil war, or Warren Harding with his corrupt administration, or Herbert Hoover, who failed to halt the slide into the Great Depression, or, more recently, Richard Nixon, the only President to be forced to resign. But in terms of dogmatism, incompetence, ignorance and divisiveness, Mr Bush surely compares with any of the above.

Our trip around the Island of Manhattan

Time Square

Last night we took a ride around the city with the baby and looked at Time Square, The New York Library, 42nd Street, Avenue of the Americas and Second Avenue. We all had a great time and thought we would share some pictures.

We are planning on hanging out for the King Holiday. This week is Regents week at Drew’s school so the kids will not be in attendance.

It is going to be very cold in Somers tonight 8 degrees so we are all bundling up with warm clothes and such. The baby is doing well and really likes ham and eggs in the morning. Here are some more pictures for everyone to enjoy.
