Have the baby boomers been saving enough?

Have baby boomers saved enough?

What types of things might we learn from the fact that this chart shows us that they have not been saving for retirement? Will they have to sell their primary residence in more expensive areas and flee to smaller and less costlky locals? What does that portend for us in the expensive cities of the United States?

I would like to suggest that it could mean that the real estate values in the most expensive cities like New York will fall. That is assuming of course that there are not people willing to pick up all of the real estate as it comes to market as the bulk of the baby boomers come of retirement age between 2010-2015.

It will also happen in all of the other 10 most expensive cities in America. Of course, this does assume, economically speaking--all other things are equal. Ta Ta!
